Deposit trails when funds pause on an intermediate wallet

Many deposits reach cold storage in two steps: an exchange withdrawal into a hot or intermediate wallet, then a later move into cold storage. If you only log the final step, the journal looks incomplete. If you log both without a linking note, it looks like two unrelated events.

We treat the pause as a first-class transfer note. The note names the intermediate label, the expected cold-storage destination, and whether the second hop happened the same day or later. When the cold deposit finally lands, the deposit entry references the transfer-note date.

This habit matters most for people who batch cold deposits monthly. Without the bridge note, a rainy-evening audit turns into detective work.
